The challenge

Crews losing their connection between jobsites

Field crews were dealing with weak and inconsistent cell service, which meant documents, schedules and updates stalled whenever a truck left town.

The contractor wanted in-vehicle Wi-Fi, but would not accept drilling into vehicle roofs to get it.

The solution

A connected office in every truck

SimpleCom installed a managed 5G router in each vehicle, wired directly to the vehicle so connectivity follows the ignition, with GPS on every unit.

No roof penetration

Antennas mounted without drilling into the vehicle roof.

Ignition-wired power

The router powers on with the engine, no driver action needed.

Power-down timer

Connectivity stays up for a set time after the engine turns off.

GPS and 5G

Every vehicle connected and visible on the map.

The result

Every vehicle online, every vehicle on the map

Crews now carry a reliable Wi-Fi connection from site to site, and the office can see where every truck is. One install standard covers the whole fleet.
